{Halloween Donuts} Zombie Eyes for breakfast

October 21, 2014 by Julie 10 Comments

Honestly, I'm usually a wimp when it comes to zombies. But these zombie eyes are exactly the kind of fun food that I can get excited about. Powdered sugar donuts are one of my guilty pleasures. Thankfully, I hardly ever buy them. Also thankfully, my kids gobble them up when they are around, leaving none to tempt me.   To turn these into zombie eyes I started by adding some red … [Read more...]

Homemade Biscuits with Chili and Eggs

September 11, 2014 by Julie 6 Comments

I think we all have dishes that we are better at making than others. The ones we bring out for potlucks and parties. Personally, I make pretty amazing homemade buttermilk biscuits. It was great to celebrate the start of a new year together.I forgot to take a picture before we started eating. Or even of all the food! But it was all delicious.I made these banana crumb muffins. I have also made another batch of them since the … [Read more...]

Zucchini bread

October 22, 2013 by Julie Leave a Comment

A couple of weeks ago my Mom brought me over a giant zucchini from a friends garden. Giant (you can see it on Instagram here). The first thing the kids requested was that I make some zucchini bread with it. I happily obliged. I have since also used this zucchini to make two delicious pots of vegetable soup (using this recipe here). And there is still some left! But I'm not … [Read more...]
