How to Throw An Oscar Party

February 25, 2016 by Julie 1 Comment

Oscar Party Bingo Game

My sister Kara and her husband are serious when it comes to the Oscars. Like, they watch every nominated movie serious. Not just the best picture nominees, ALL the nominees. So you can bet that she is on top of things when it comes to planning her annual Oscar Party. Today she’s sharing a few of her party planning secrets.

She’s broken the party planning down into three main areas: menu, activities, and swag bags.

First up the the menu. The Oscars almost require a movie themed menu. Even the drinks.

Movie themed menu:

  • Shirley Temple‘s with homemade grenadine
  • Popcorn w/ skittles (her husband’s concoction)
  • Soft Pretzels
  • Hot Dogs
  • Nachos

Next up are the activities. No party is complete without some party games. The two most Party Activities at an Oscar Party are:

  • Fill out your Oscar Ballots (see who gets the most right!)
  • Play Oscar Bingo while you eat and watch the show

Oscar Bingo Cards

Kara designed these Oscar Bingo cards. There are four cards and each one is unique. Print one off for each of your guests and yourself and play along during the show.

Of course no Oscar party is complete without Swag Bags. Here’s what Kara is putting in hers this year:

  • Nail polish
  • Chocolates
  • Beard oil

Are you throwing an Oscar watching party this year?

Having the Bingo cards and ballots made watching soo much fun! Even our friends who hadn’t seen all the movies were invested in all the categories.
