Fall isn’t just about pumpkins, it’s also about fresh apples! Turn those apples into a decadent treat when you make Chocolate Caramel Apple Slices
Caramel apples are pretty stinking delicious. But they are also rather difficult to eat. Not any more! These Chocolate Caramel Apple Slices give you the same great taste, but delivered in an easier to eat package.
Start with some apples, caramel candies to melt, and dipping chocolate wafers. Melt the caramels according to the directions on the package. I unwrapped mine and put them in a microwave safe bowl with a dash of water. I microwaved them in 30 second bursts, stirring after each interval, until they were melted.
While they are melting cut your apples in half and use a melon baller to scoop out the middle.
Fill the apples with the melted caramel. Allow the apples and caramel to cool. I let mine sit for about two hours.
When they have cooled enough to work with take a sharp knife and slice the apple. I turned each apple half into four slices. Optional: I inserted a lollipop stick into my apple slices. This made dipping them much easier.
Dip your caramel apple slices into the chocolate of your choice. I used milk chocolate wafers for this treat. You can also drizzle your apple slices with chocolate if you prefer. I did a combination of dipping and drizzling. I just love chocolate and caramel together.
Chocolate caramel apple slices that are easy to eat.
