Car Seat Safety – What You Need to Know And a Car Seat Giveaway

September 14, 2017 by Julie 3 Comments

This post is in partnership with Britax and SheBuysCars. Ready to test drive parenthood? Here is what you need to know about car seat safety and a car seat giveaway!

One thing about parenthood is that it’s always changing. The car seats, and what I knew about car seat safety, was so different in the 8 years between when I had my twins and when I had Littlest. Add in another 8 years and it’s different now with my sister and her new baby. Navigating all the information about child and car seat safety can be overwhelming. The good news is that car seats, and car seat safety, is always getting better.

That’s why I was so excited to partner with Britax and be part of the Britax/Lexus Car Seat Event that is happening next week as part of Child Passenger Safety Week.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration every 33 seconds one child under the age of 13 is involved in a crash. And road injuries are the leading cause of unintentional deaths to children in the United States.

Of those children ages 8 and under who died in vehicle crashes in 2014, 26 percent were not restrained by an age-appropriate device such as an infant seat, booster seat or seat belt. Children should ride in a vehicle back seat until they are at least 13 years old.

Britax is a pioneer in innovation. They are also an industry leader in safety and quality. Britax works with customers and outside experts to inform its thinking and innovation.

Come learn more about car seat safety in person at a Britax/Lexus Car Seat Event! Events are being held across the country to learn more about car seat safety. At the event, guests will get to see a child passenger safety technician showing how to properly install a car seat! (I’ll be at the Dallas event!)
