Keep your ears warm with this free knit Braided Cable Headband pattern!
Cool brisk mornings and warm afternoons. Spring, and fall, are two of my favorite seasons. On those cool mornings and evenings sometimes I’m just not in the mood to wear a hat, but I still want to keep my ears warm. This knit braided cable pattern is the solution!
Ear warmers, headbands, whatever you’d like to call them, are perfect for keeping my ears warm.
I love knitting cables, and braided cables are really fun. They look like three knitted strands that are braided together.
For this headband I put two of the cables side by side to create a more complicated looking pattern.
While it make look intricate, it’s as easy as knitting any other cables!
Plus, headbands are easier than hats. You just need yarn, straight knitting needles, and a cable needle. Plus a tapestry needle to finish it off.
These cables are an 8 row repeat. You just repeat those rows until the headband is long enough to go around your head.
Then use the tapestry needle to whip stitch the ends of the headband together.
In about an hour you’ll have a headband to keep your ears warm.
