Overnight oats are such an easy and tasty breakfast! They are a zero-cooking, grab-and-go breakfast that is completely customizable. And the prep is so fast as it only takes less than a minute to mix your oats together!
I’ve previously shared how I make Protein Waffles, Mini Muffins topped with the best crumb topping, and Protein Brownie Waffles topped with the most delicious peanut-butter sauce. Now Naked Nutrition has a delicious new product, Naked Oats, that makes it even easier to create delicious protein-filled recipes.
Naked Oats combines premium grass-fed whey with gluten-free rolled oats, and you can use it to make a quick protein shake or delicious overnight oatmeal. For the oatmeal, which is what I made, you’ll want to add two scoops and 8 fl oz of milk or milk substitute to a shaker bottle, shake, and refrigerate for five hours or more. I recommend keeping it in the fridge overnight.
Now, I don’t like cold oatmeal. So after keeping my oats in the fridge overnight, I did pop them in the microwave for a minute to warm them up. But you could also enjoy them cold!
I topped my cinnamon roll overnight oats with some toasted oats and a drizzle of Greek yogurt icing.
Cinnamon Roll Overnight Oat Toppings
Greek Yogurt Icing
Just 3 ingredients, this simple topping I think really gives the oats a ‘cinnamon roll’ look at flavor.
Combine
- 1 Tablespoon Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon icing sugar
- Splash of milk or milk substitute
Then drizzle over your oats!
Toasted Oats
Another fun topping is adding a pinch of toasted oats. My Dad would make these all the time growing up.
Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a frying pan and then add 1/2 cup of rolled oats. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. When they start to brown add 2 teaspoons of brown sugar, a dash of cinnamon, and a dash of nutmeg. Still until the oats are coated and then remove from heat.
Spread the oats over a sheet of parchment or wax paper to cool. Add to your overnight oats as desired and store in an airtight container.
While each of these toppings is yummy on its own, they are even better when you put them together. A pinch (or more) of toasted oats topped with a drizzle of icing. YUM!
You might also add mini chocolate chips, fresh fruit, or any other number of topping ideas to your cinnamon roll overnight oats!
These overnight oats are not only crave-worthy, but they keep me fueled with energy. Each serving is packed with 20g of protein and 6g of fiber to kickstart my morning and keep my energy levels high.
