DIY Kid Friendly Ghosts

October 15, 2014 by Julie 9 Comments

How handy that we could make ghosts for our letter G activity this week? We made two variations of these friendly ghosts. First a simple popsicle stick ghost. And the second started the same as the first with the addition of a bunch of tissue paper squares glued on the top. Then we used a cotton ball dipped in black paint to add the faces. This was great because it was simple enough for … [Read more...]

Brain Freeze

October 9, 2014 by Julie Leave a Comment

My Dad has a handy habit of ordering slightly silly things. It's a habit I am very fond of. Case in point, these BRAIN FREEZE molds! When we had dinner over there recently the kids found them and asked if we could use them. For our first time experimenting with the molds I decided to make ice cubes with them. We used some different juice flavors (and added in just a bit of extra food coloring … [Read more...]

I Dip, You Dip, We Salsa Dip

September 25, 2014 by Julie Leave a Comment

Homeschool lessons don't always go according to plan. I know. You're shocked. I had this great idea for the letter D that I would go to the store and get some dino chicken nuggets that we could dip in some ketchup/mustard/fry sauce. Except the store was out of dino chicken nuggets. (I know!) I even went multiple days and to more than one store. But my plans were foiled. So in the end we skipped … [Read more...]

C is for Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

September 18, 2014 by Julie 6 Comments

C is for Chocolate Chip Cookie Growing up my Mom sent my lunch to school with me every day. And my favorite part of my lunch? Homemade chocolate chip cookies. I didn't get cookies every day, but I did get them often. Sometimes I would even share a cookie. (My friends loved my Moms cookies, her chocolate chip cookie recipe is legendary.) What better treat for learning the letter C with … [Read more...]
