Get moving with your cat! I’m sharing cat exercises that your favorite feline is sure to enjoy.
I remember when we lived in our apartment in downtown Fort Worth. As soon as the weather got warmer there were TONS of people outside. They were jogging, biking, and playing in the parks. Texans don’t really do ‘cold’ weather and when things warm up and the sun starts shining we head outside for the fresh air and sunshine.
As excited as we humans are to get outside for fresh spring air, your pet is ready for a little spring cleaning, too. Right now is the perfect opportunity to switch your pet’s food to something more nutritious.
Humans can be picky about the food we put into our bodies. But the food your pet eats affects them as well. Their food affects their digestive, emotional and physical health, just like ours does.
I signed my cats up for the Supreme Source® Pet Food 10-day detox. Supreme Source is a premium grain-free diet that’s packed with healthy enzymes and prebiotics to rejuvenate our little best friends, inside and out. In just 10 days your pet can be eating better! We tried out the Whitefish Meal and Salmon Meal Dry Cat Food for the 10-day detox.
Supreme Source is here to help you feed their soul and detox their system with healthy ingredients and informational tools to make it easy for you to switch your pet’s food to something more nutritious. Not only is Supreme Source grain free, meaning no corn, no wheat, and no soy, but it also contains no artificial flavors or colors.
Supreme Source does contain a healthy blend of fruits and veggies, which are natural sources of potassium, fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
5 Ways to Exercise With Your Cat
1. Cat Toys
Keep plenty of toys around the house, giving your cat lots of options to play with. Not all toys have to be from the pet store, you can use everyday objects as toys. Try using ping-pong balls as a cat toy!
2. Fun with Lasers
Want to get your cat moving quickly? Try a laser pointer! Follow it up with a real toy your cat can catch to avoid frustration. One great follow-up toy is a cat wand. Get, or make, one that has a flexible wand with a feather, mouse, or other toy on the far end. Make it more challenging by running the toy up and over the sofa or up and down stairs to increase the exercise intensity.
3. Make a Cat Hockey Rink
Put a ball in a large cardboard box or the bathtub to create an instant “hockey rink” for your cat. Your cat will love chasing the ball around the confined space and As the ball goes flying off the walls (and the cat goes flying after it), you’ll get some laughs and your cat will get some much-needed exercise.
4. Get outside
My cats love to play and explore in the backyard. You can even train your cat to take walks with you. Experiment with different types of harnesses and see what your cat likes best.
5. Get an exercise partner
Two is better than one! We love having a pair of cats. They not only snuggle and sometimes groom each other, but they play together. Chasing each other around the house is great exercise for both of them.
A happier pet with higher energy levels are some of the changes my own cats went through as part of the 10-day detox. With beautiful outdoor weather and chance to play outside, spring time is a great opportunity to make the #SuperFoodSwitch.
