Planning a trip to Portland? Rest easy at the AC Hotel Portland Downtown. Be inspired by a modern Portland hotel with a European soul. From art to food, your stay will feel rested and inspired.
From artwork to beautiful vistas I expected to be relaxed and inspired on my trip to Portland. But it was a treat that I got all of those things just in my hotel. I loved that the AC Hotel Portland Downtown is mere steps from the Portland MAX Light Rail service. I was able to get off my train, walk to my hotel, and check in, all in a breeze.
There are touches of the Pacific Northwest starting in the lobby with a bowl of pebbles and sea glass sitting on a small table. The hotel is a beautiful modern hotel with a European feel.
I loved the earthy nods. The large wooden bookcase owl sits in the lobby. It’s shelves are filed with books, plants, and rocks. Nearby is the shelf where I found this bowl filled with numbers. Over in the corner next to the bar I found the sculpture of the ram on the house.
This painting of an ocean wave faces the elevators that take you to your room.
My hotel room was sleek and modern, with a gorgeous shower and glass paneling. But also soft and comforting with a view of the river.
I think my favorite piece of art in the hotel was this pencil art. It’s downstairs near the conference rooms.
I have seen a variety of colored pencil art projects and crafts before, but I loved that this used regular pencils that are simply colorful.
The pencils are all sharpened at various lengths and put together to form this large and impressive piece.
You will find unique and original pieces all throughout the hotel. But they all seem to flow together and complement each other. In a corner near the pencil art is where I found this beautifully stitched leather and wood bench, sitting on a rug.
While there are amazing coffee shops and bakeries everywhere you turn, I took advantage of breakfast in my hotel one morning during my trip.
Take a seat and order a hot, freshly prepared breakfast. This morning I ordered open face toast with scrambled eggs, manchego cheese, arugula, and prosciutto.
Stroll through the buffet that offers fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, pastries, cereal, and yogurt.
In a rush? In the lobby you’ll find The Slab where you can get a quick breakfast to go.
In the evenings the lights in the lobby are dimmed and guests enjoy happy hour at their well-stocked bar.
