One of our favorite cities to visit as a family is San Antonio, Texas. There are tons of places to visit and it’s very family friendly. And this summer they are working on making it even more family friendly.
The City of San Antonio has launched the SAVE – San Antonio Vacation Experience this summer program. The SAVE Program packs in savings for families looking to get the most out of their San Antonio vacation. It also makes it simple. From hotels located throughout the city to the biggest and best attractions there are plenty of options to create your perfect San Antonio vacation.
The last time we went to San Antonio we stayed the Crocket Hotel and we loved it. I would really like to stay there again. It was right across the street from the Alamo and we could walk wherever else we needed. For the dates and room type I was looking at it would save us $5 a night.
One place we haven’t been that I think my boys would like is the Texas Transportation Museum. The museum includes a full-sized operating railroad and has scheduled rides on Saturdays and Sundays. With the SAVE program you save on each ticket purchased and the train rides are included in the admission price. This SAVE deal is for $2 off family tickets.
We had a great time at SeaWorld San Antonio the last time we went to San Antonio and I would love to take the kids again. The twins loved the all the shows, especially seeing Shamu. Using the SAVE Program several different discounts are available when you order your tickets online. Some of the deals I saw were $10 off admission or a family 4-pack for $189.99!
I have lived in Texas almost my whole life, and sadly, have never been to Schlitterbahn. Voted World’s Best Waterpark it’s somewhere I would really like to go. We’re not really an adventerous family but the spring-fed pools and kids playgrounds sound right up our alley. It would be a fun day trip to New Braunfels. The SAVE program saves you $2 for this attraction, but you have to print out the coupon (no online ordering).
My husband and I love modern art. And with the SAVE program we can get free admission for the kids to the McNay Art Museum. Collection pieces include works by Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, and Edward Hopper. Adults get $1 off admission.
And no vacation would be complete without a little shopping. If you visit the Del Sol store, located right near the Alamo, you’ll get a free tote bag with the purchase of any t-shirt.
You can start planning your own vacation at SAVE – San Antonio Vacation Experience.
There are also some Limited Time Offers happening throughout the summer. I’ve never been to a dive in movie, but it sounds like fun. From now through August 10th you can enjoy family friendly movies while hanging out in the Splashtown San Antonio wave pool.
