Skip Counting by 10’s

April 30, 2015 by Julie Leave a Comment

Littlest loves numbers. Currently his favorite number is 8940. I'm not really sure why, but if he is trying to convey a large number number of something to you, that's the number that he picks. He loves to count. He got 1-20 down pretty quickly. It was really nice when we first moved in to our building because that's about how many floors there are. Learning Left and Right

April 16, 2015 by Julie 2 Comments

Learning anything is more fun when you turn it into a game. To help Littlest work on learning his left and right I created this fun dice rolling/sticker game for him. Yellow ducks. Yellow brick roads. Yellow submarines. We are all about the cheerful color yellow this week. Culminating in creating a yellow "You are my Sunshine" basket to take to a friend who could use some cheering up. Of course Littlest needed to test the pinwheel before it went into the basket. We mainly focused on yellow packaging, rather than if the items inside were … [Read more...]

Treasure Map: X Marks the Spot

March 25, 2015 by Julie Leave a Comment

I remember loving a good scavenger hunt/treasure map search as a kid. But as a parent sometimes creating the map is the hardest part. Not any more. I started by using Google Maps to find a satellite photo of the park near our apartment building. I took a screen shot of the park and then put it into a photo editing program where I changed it to black and white and lightened it. Print it on some … [Read more...]
