Free Knit Socks Pattern
Love cables? This free Mock Cable Knit Socks pattern features simple right twist stitches that look like cables, without needing a cable needle!
Cables are one of my favorite knit features. Whether it’s on a hat, gloves, or now socks!
But these cable socks have a secret, they are actually mock cables. That means no cable needle, or actual cabling, required! Instead these socks use a right twist stitch to create a faux cable appearance.
The pattern doesn’t indicate any color changes, but I did make these socks in two colors.
I used a darker red for the ribbing at the top of the leg, for the heel flap, and for the toe. Then I used a slightly lighter color for the main leg and foot.
When you make your socks, use as many colors as you’d like!
The mock cabling continues all down the leg and the top of the foot.
