Star Wars fan? Give them a sweet treat. Make a Star Wars Pie with a DIY Pie Stencil.
Star Wars fan? My house is full of them. My husband, the twins, Littlest. All huge Star Wars fans. Of course, I’ve seen all the films. But naming all the different space craft? That’s where the boys all outshine me with their fandom.
How do you celebrate something everyone in your house loves so much? How about with some pie. But not just any pie. This needs to be a Star Wars pie.
So my question was, how do I make a Star Wars pie? I’ve used stencils to decorate cakes before, and I realized I could use the same method to decorate the twins favorite pie. You could use any kind of pie you wanted (pumpkin pie, chocolate pie), the only requirement is that the top be pretty smooth so you can work the stencil over the top. I made Kentucky Derby pie. The recipe is super easy, and tastes almost like a chocolate chip cookie. It’s like chocolate chip cookie pie!

Now I did decide to get a little fancy with my recipe. The standard recipe starts with 1 cup of chocolate chips on the bottom. I added in about 1/4 cup of salted caramel chips to shake things up a bit. Get my Kentucky Derby Pie (Chocolate Chip Pie) recipe here.
The other step for making your Star Wars pie is a stencil. I made a Rebel Alliance stencil using my 3D printer. You could also make the stencil with a Cricut or by hand.
With the pie baked and cooled, and my stencil cut, it was time to create my Star Wars pie.
Lay the stencil over the top of the pie and dust with either powdered sugar (for a white stencil) or hot chocolate mix (for a brown/black stencil). For my Star Wars pie I went with the hot chocolate mix. Because hot chocolate mix has sugar in it it’s sweeter than if you dusted with straight cocoa powder.
Lift off the stencil and I’ve got my Rebel Alliance Star Wars pie!
I know the twins don’t look super excited, but mostly they were annoyed that I made them take a photo before I would let them eat their pie.
And it seemed appropriate for them to eat Star Wars Pie while wearing their new Star Wars shirts.
For some of their back to school apparel I ordered some Star Wars shirts from from TVStoreOnline.com. No matter what movie, television show, or comic book your family is into, you can probably find a t-shirt for their fandom at TVStoreOnline.com. I got myself a Captain America shirt and earmarked a Community t-shirt for my sister for Christmas. Find the Star Wars shirts the twins are wearing HERE and HERE. Perfect for back to school!
