Sporting events are better with food. This is less an opinion and more just scientific fact. Football, basketball, horse racing: All better with food. Yes, I said horse racing. Years ago, like 15 years ago, I was having dinner at a friends house and she made the most amazing pie ever. I left that night with the recipe in my hot little hand. That pie has turned into a beloved treat at my house and what I bring to potlucks when I really want to wow the crowd. While I have also heard it called other things, she called it Kentucky Derby Pie and that’s the name that stuck at my house.

I can’t even do this pie justice in writing. Melted chocolate on the bottom, covered with amazingness. And when I share the recipe people are blown away by how simple it is. Like 6 ingredients, plus a pie crust. Just watch the video.

See? So. Easy. Of course, you know what else you need for horse racing? A most fabulous hat. I’m working some DIY magic with this beautiful summer hat I picked up a couple years ago. I stitched up a giant crochet flower to pin on my hat.

I can not wait to rock this hat.

Something else that is rocking right now, the Walmart Family Mobile starter kits. The Starter Kits are cheaper than before and now on rollback for just 19.88.

Of course the Kentucky Derby Pie pairs well with other events besides just horse racing: Movie night, craft night, Sunday dinner, Wednesday. When it’s so easy to make you can make it whenever you want. Have a slice while you watch a movie courtesy of your Walmart Family Mobile PLUS service plan. I’ll be eating my slice while I watch a movie on my tablet.

We love our Walmart Family Mobile phones, and the new PLUS plan equals unlimited talk, text, and data (which includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE) every month. And you get a free movie on VUDU every month per line for $49.88. That’s more data and more perks for a value.

No matter where I am I can keep caught up on life, good food, and great hats with my Samsung Galaxy.

Aside from watching my Kentucky Derby Pie video over and over, what will you do with more data?

YES, that pie looks so good. Chocolate is my weakness. I love the hat! Should be a great celebration.
