Planning a summer soiree? Stay cool with Sparkling Pineapple Lemonade! It’s perfect for your summer cookout, 4th of July party, or simply sipping on the front porch.
There’s nothing better than sipping on icy cold lemonade on a hot summer afternoon. A pitcher of lemonade at meal time is a frequent sight. Just as dinner is going on the table someone grabs a pitcher to mix up a batch so it’s nice and cold to go on the table. Sunday dinner’s at Grandma’s house still feature lemonade, it is Littlest’s favorite drink. And he always likes to drink his with a straw.
While there is nothing like made-from-scratch lemonade, I actually don’t make it all that often. Typically I keep some powdered lemonade in the pantry so I can make a pitcher whenever my heart desires. And while there is nothing wrong with plain lemonade, sometimes it’s fun to get a little creative with our favorite summer drink.
This time I’m making Sparkling Pineapple Lemonade.
It’s about as easy to say as it is to make. There are just three ingredients: pineapple juice, lemonade, lemon-lime soda.
I like to mix equal parts of each ingredient into a glass. Then add plenty of ice and top with a straw. The pineapple juice can tend to settle at the bottom, so give it a little stir with your straw before you drink to get the flavors combined.
While you could make a pitcher of it, I prefer to just mix it in my glass. Just set out the pineapple juice, the pitcher of lemonade, and the bottle of lemon-lime soda. Then guests can create the perfect flavor combination for themselves!
It’s easy to have plenty of ice for my sparkling pineapple lemonade, or any other summer drink, with my new portable countertop ice maker from NewAir.
Ready to use out of the box, all I had to do was plug it in and add water. There is a water reservoir that you fill and then the machine starts working. The finished ice is bullet shaped, with rounded edges and hollow centers. The ice pieces are thick and versatile. Not only is it handy for my lemonade drinks, but my husband has already use it to fill a cooler for a camping trip!
The hollow centers also make the ice easy to crush for bar recipes. I’ve been leaving my unit plugged in and on during the day. The AI-250W is highly efficient and costs only four cents per hour to operate. With constant fresh ice, I never worry about running low.
