Yesterday was the twins last day of school. At the end of the last day everyone gathers at the flag pole in front of the school, says the pledge, cheers, hugs, and goes home for the summer.
For me the goodbyes always seem hard. I come to really appreciate their teachers over the course of the school year and it always feels a little sad to be moving on.
Yesterday was no different. This year their principle is also retiring and some friends are moving so there were even more goodbyes. But lots of friendly faces will be there again in the fall.
This year one of the Moms designed some really awesome field day shirts for the kids. Each homeroom class got their own color. The twins are in different classes so one got a green shirt and one got a blue shirt.
The kids wore their shirts to field day and then were also asked to wear them a week later to their end of the year party. At the party all the kids signed each others shirts.
I sent end of the year gifts for each of the boys teachers that they got to pick out. Their teachers all wrote them nice thank you notes.
Now it’s time to think of activities to keep us busy this summer. If you have any ideas I’d love to hear them!
