I have been lucky enough to see first hand how generous teachers are with their time as well as their money. According to AdoptAClassroom.org, teachers spend an average of $500 of their own money each year to equip their classrooms. And 70% of teachers have even purchased apparel items like jackets, socks and shoes for their students.
We’ve been lucky that the twins have had several incredible teachers. But I would have to say that our favorite teacher is their Grammie (aka my Mom). My Mom is a high school English/History teacher who is passionate about her students. She takes an active interest in their learning and well-being. As an English teacher she is always encouraging her students to read more. She encourages her grandsons to do the same. For birthdays and Christmas you can bet that one of their gifts will be a new book. She also works with some her schools academic teams and brags about her students whenever we see her.
Fashion resale site thredUP.com has partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org to recognize and thank teachers for their hard work and the positive impact they make each day on our children’s lives.
