Last year was our first Christmas living in our apartment. A new place at Christmas meant some new Christmas traditions, including filling our windows with paper snowflakes. You can see last years snowflake filled windows here.
It was so fun that I made sure to repeat our snowflake windows again this year. I printed out our snowflakes this year and then the kids and I just cut, folded, and cut some more. (I used paper snowflake patterns from here and here.)
I will say that the patterns were too complicated for Littlest so he observed the snowflake cutting more than participating. But we cut out over a dozen snowflakes and then hung them up in our windows together.
I love that it makes our view out of our windows more wintery. The kids like to point out to everyone who comes over that you can see the city Christmas tree from our apartment.
And I love that when you look up to our apartment from the street you can see them in the windows. At night you can also see our Christmas tree lights out of our windows.
We might not have any snow on the ground, but I’m quite happy with our snowy windows.
