Saturday night a few of my closest friends gathered at my apartment for my first annual cookie exchange. We each made 4 dozen cookies (I made my minty chocolate chip meringues) to eat and swap. We spent the evening relaxing, chatting, and munching on our cookies.
For a little bit fun I spent the afternoon before the party making some chocolate christmas trees for the center of the table. I found the chocolate mold at the store and I already had a package of melting chocolate at home. (Though these would also be fun with green or other colored chocolate.) Then I decorated them with chocolate frosting and some snowy looking candies. Some of the candies I attached to an upside down white platter using chocolate frosting. And with the rest I used some frosting to attach them to the bottom of a pie plate, and then filled the pie plate with some fake snow for my trees.
I’m so thankful for my close girlfriends. This has been a busy month and it was great to just spend the evening with some of my favorite people. I was reminded again that more than any gift, it is the people in my life that I am most thankful for.
