Fall in Texas can be a beautiful thing. No, we don’t have all the gorgeous fall foliage colors at the moment. But the temperature outside is in the mid 70’s and it’s heavenly. We are all enjoying spending more time outside. Everyone is also enjoying more time outside since we acquired this fun toy, a mini electric bike. The street in front of Grandma’s house has been our favorite place to ride so far.
Oldest Twin in particular is a huge fan. But it’s really something that all three boys are enjoying. The bikes, and all of Monster Moto’s products, are primarily geared for ages 5-12. The kids can spend hours outside playing on it. Taking turns. Running up and down the street next to whoever is riding. It’s been a blast watching how much fun they have with it.
It’s got two speed settings, and so far we’ve kept it on the slower setting. But I have a feeling that’s going to change soon. It’s an electric bike and it comes with a rechargeable battery plus the battery charger. It has a motorcycle style throttle control, along with a charge indicator. I’ve been really impressed with how long the charge on the battery lasts.
But who says kids should get to have all the fun? Not me!
While I can’t endorse that all adults should hop on the minibike I checked the specifications and I do fall under the max recommended rider weight.
If you’re looking for a fun active gift for your kids this might be the ticket. See more of the Monster Moto lineup in action.

Loving the bike so far! It’s my first ebike and frankly may have given me a new addiction as now I’m looking for all kinds of stuff to add to mine as well as faster and faster models.
Only two real cons to mention here, since we know that’s what you’re looking for if you’re reading reviews.
1) speed. Frankly this thing should be able to go 18-20 mph. Many other bikes, even ones with similar frames as this and in a similar price range, do. It’s not a huge issue. You can get up to 18 mph if you’re pedaling your ass off, but the point of this is not to exert extra energy but to enjoy the ride.
2) the seat. I changed the stock seat out. It does have a good amount of padding, and at first you feel it and think “oh this’ll do just fine”. Until your tailbone is aching. But to be fair my tailbone only started hurting because I’d spent hours at a time riding it around, so I guess that’s a testament to how fun it is to ride.
If you want to cruise at a decent enough speed to travel around town/between towns and turn some heads while doing so, this e-bike is your man.
