Hot chocolate is my favorite fall/winter drink. And while I have enjoyed many (many) cups of traditional milk chocolate flavor and some dark chocolate, I had never tried white chocolate hot chocolate. Here’s a hint, it’s pretty awesome. It’s also ridiculously easy.
I made a few cups of white hot chocolate, topped with whipped cream of course. For Christmas these would be delicious with a hint of peppermint and maybe topped with red sprinkles.
But with Halloween coming up I made up some spooky monster servings. Which consisted of adding a few candy eyes and some monster colored sprinkles.
White Hot Chocolate
Makes 2 cups
Ingredients:
1 cup milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 ounces white chocolate, chopped into small pieces
Whipped cream (optional)
Candy eyes (optional)
Monster mix colored sprinkles (optional)
Directions
Add cream, milk, vanilla extract, and white chocolate pieces to a medium saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the chocolate is completed melted. Do not let the mixture come to a boil. Remove from heat and serve immediately. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles if desired.
The recipe can easily be doubled, tripled, quadrupled, or more to get the number of servings you need.
I plan to enjoy several cups of white hot chocolate this year. Hopefully curled up with a good book. Or relaxing on the couch watching TV. How do you enjoy your hot chocolate?
