Last weeks date night found me and my husband at the new modmarket Farm Fresh Eatery.
You’ll notice as soon as you walk in the door that when they say farm fresh eatery they really mean it. Their menu is entirely scratch-made with no preservatives or artificial anything. If you can’t pronounce it, you won’t find it in their food!
For my meal I tried the BLT+A (that’s A for avocado). Really, they had me at bacon, but the addition of the avocado was delicious. (I do like bacon and avocado together.) At the location where we went this is the only sandwich on the menu that is served on multigrain bread rather than ciabatta. I went with a half sandwich and then added a cup of soup to complete my meal. The soups change daily and the day we went I tried the corn chowder which was superb.
My husband and I have pretty similar food tastes, and he also went with a soup and sandwich combo for dinner. He opted for the Basil Chicken Sandwich and the Curry Yellow Split Pea Soup. He was pretty ecstatic about the soup. And the ciabatta bread was really flavorful. When we go again I’m very likely going to get the same sandwich he got on this outing.
That fresh food mantra extends to their drinks as well. We both opted for a locally bottled cola from the fountain.
We were there on a Friday night and it was definitely a family friendly evening happening at modmarket. If you want to bring the kids I would suggest maybe a Monday night when kids eat free! (They also do kids eat free every Sunday night as well).
And if you need a place to relax after work, modmarket offers a happy hour every Thursday from 3-6 p.m. During that time you can grab a Whole M’Rita or Pepe pizza and a bottle of house wine for $12. The tables on either side of us were eating pizzas and they looked scrumptious.
And now my favorite part, a chance for you to try out modmarket and all their fresh menu items for yourself!
Full Disclosure: I received a gift card to visit modmarket in exchange for this review and giveaway. All opinions are 100% my own.
