How about a little flashback on this Monday morning? Some pretty great things happened when I was in high school. I listened to fabulous pop music. I had a group of fantastic friends (I’m the one wearing jeans, for who knows what reason). And I ate M&M’s® Crispy.
While the friendships lasted and the music is still in my iTunes, there was a time where I could no longer eat my M&M’s® Crispy. But, in a fabulous turn of fate, M&M’s® Crispy is back and just as delicious as before! So, in case you missed them the first time, you can finally taste what you’ve been missing.
While I was at CVS I was able to grab an individual bag of M&M’s® Crispy as well as a bigger bag to make a pizookie with (more on that in a minute). How nice of Mr. Yellow Peanut M&M® to have things to handy for me. (And if you get the M&M’s® Crispy at CVS you can click here to use this $1 coupon.)
Okay, now that pizookie (pizza+cookie) I mentioned. Just mix up your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe, but substitute M&M’s® Crispy for the chocolate chips. I used about 1 cup of M&M’s® in the dough. Then put all the dough in a well-seasons cast iron skillet, sprinkle a few more M&M’s® on top, and put it all into the oven.
That leaves you a few leftover to munch on while your pizookie is cooking.
Then slice it up. I gave the kids each a slice with a mug of milk, but decided to enjoy mine with a fancier glass of milk. Because sometimes you just have to treat yourself.
It was an even bigger treat to disappear with my cookie slice, milk, and a few pages of a favorite book. Or some 90’s pop music.
Of course the individual bags of M&M’s® Crispy are pretty perfect for treating yourself as well, anytime.
Pizookie Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup M&M’s® Crispy
Directions:
Cream together the shortening and sugar. Then add the vanilla and eggs, mix well.
Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well. Add the M&M’s® Crispy.
Bake for 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
After 15-20 minutes I put some foil over the top so it didn’t get too browned.
Were you a fan of M&M’s® Crispy before or have you tried them since they came back? Let me know in the comments!
This is the best food I will make in that cast iron skillet.

I love baking in a cast iron skillet, it feels like I am channeling my grandmother – she made everything in them! The great thing about M&M’s is that you can put them in so many dessert and it adds a nice crunch element.
