How about a ‘home’ tour? We’ve now lived in our downtown apartment for two years It almost seems crazy that we’ve been here that long. I realized that I’ve shared different views from my apartment (daytime, evening, and thunderstorm) I haven’t shared pictures from around our building.
Above are the elevators on our floor. We live high enough that I’m glad we don’t have to walk up the stairs every time we come and go. In fact, I still haven’t walked up all the flights of stairs to our apartment. The kids have. And my husband has. There was one day when it was snowing and the power in the elevators went out. I debated how badly I needed to leave the building. Not that badly. I stayed home all day.
Our parking garage is located essentially under the building. I park down at the end of this ramp, which exits at street level. The elevators go down to the basement. So if I drive somewhere I park in the basement and can hop in the elevator straight to our floor. Handy when grocery shopping.
The parking garage wasn’t exactly built to house cars. Part of it used to be a theater, and you can still see some of the molding on the ceiling.
Our mailbox is in the lobby. Easy to check for mail as we go in and out the front door. Generally I’m checking for mail as we come home from playing at the park.
I love this letterbox on the first floor, past the lobby doors. The mail slot on the right is what is on our floor (between two of the elevators). It would be fabulous if it was still operational (it’s not). Actually at the top of my apartment wish list is a garbage chute. We take our trash out to the dumpsters in the parking garage. And by ‘we’ I mean the twins (it’s one of their chores).
From Free Things to do in Fort Worth, to the Best Downtown Fort Worth restaurants, I’m sharing the Fort Worth love.
