DIY Easter Decorations

March 17, 2015 by Julie 36 Comments

easter decorations

Spring animals are my theme for this years Easter decorations. Starting with this fun bunny chalkboard. I used a chalk marker to trace the outline of the bunny and then we filled him in with chalk scribbles. His tail is a yarn pom-pom.

It’s really handy that Easter candy is color coordinated. We’ve got a pink bunny, blue bird, and yellow chick/duck. I divided up the various candy by color. Some of the candy is tucked into the plastic eggs and some is floating free in the mason jars. I used chalkboard labels to draw the faces and then attach them to the jars. You could also paint the faces directly onto the jars. Or you could paint the entire jars and then draw faces onto them. I didn’t want to permanently alter my jars, so this is the method I went with.

My Easter welcome wreath is all about the yarn. It’s got a crocheted carrot and crocheted Easter eggs.

That’s a smart idea for the holiday. I like that you can use them to make things festive but not permanently alter the jar.

Thanks, Rosey! I love being able to reuse these jars all the time so I hate to do anything to permanent to them.

This wreath really is quite cute!! Though I am not sure I will get one done in time for Easter this year, I have pinned it to my Some Bunny board so I will be inspired for next year. So glad you stopped by to share it with us at the Yarn Fanatic Linky Party! Hope you’ll be by to share it with us again soon!
