Treat out-of-town friends to a night they’ll remember, and one that includes a built-in souvenir. Last year I took a glass blowing class during a trip and it was truly incredible. As an avid crafter, I’m a big fan of craft filled outings. They are a great way to bond with friends and family and come home with something new. Get out of the heat and get creative at these DIY studios.
DIY Studios in DFW
1. Board & Brush Creative Studio
If you prefer your crafting with a glass of wine, then you’ll love getting crafty at the Board & Brush Creative Studio in Arlington. They’ll teach you how to hone your woodworking skills while you create your own personalized wood sign. At Board & Brush they will walk you through distressing, sanding, and staining to create a classic vintage style wood sign that you will love.
2. Wildflower Art Studio
You can’t scroll through Pinterest without seeing beautiful quotes and wall hangings made with hand lettering and calligraphy. Create your own beautiful works of word art with the help of Wildflower Art Studio in Denton. I’ve been a fan of their cards and DIY kits for several years. Now, with their classes, you get their expertise in person. These adult workshops are beginner level and teach watercolor lettering, brush calligraphy, art journaling, and more.
3. DIY Studio Decatur
Raise your hand if you’ve taken a road trip to Waco to visit a favorite home decor store? I know I have. What if you could make your own wood signs here in DFW from the same place who makes signs for that little shop in Waco? DIY Studio Decatur is where you can make your own shiplap sign. (I chose a custom shiplap sign with my blog name on it!) Fluid art, also known as paint pouring, is fun for all ages! Fluid art is a fun, creative way to make abstract art. At Hawaii Fluid Art you can try acrylic paint pouring, resin beach scenes, resin tumblers, glass painting, or rock painting.
6. Artsey Art Studio
How does painting and wine sound? Or maybe painting and yoga? Adult classes at the Artsey Art Studio include these relaxing and creative art classes where participants can enjoy unique paint pour projects. You can also book a private paint party. I did this with a group of friends and it was so fun to create together!
