5 Reasons You Should See a Cowboys Game at Least Once in Your Life
There’s something exhilarating about being surrounded by 80,000 of your new closest friends all cheering for the same team. As a DFW native, I’ve been a Cowboys fan for as long as I can remember. Gotta cheer for the home team! While I watch every single game, there’s nothing better than actually attending a game in person. In fact, even if you aren’t the biggest football fan in the world, attending a Cowboys game is an experience we should all have at least once in our lives.
Go to meet your neighbors
Make new friends before you even head inside the stadium. At a Cowboys game the fun starts well before kickoff. Nothing kicks off game day more than tailgating and mingling with your fellow fans. There are a few tips you should follow if you want to tailgate, the biggest one is to get there early. Tailgating is restricted to only those parking spots that back up to grass in the Cowboys Blue and Cowboys Silver Lots. These lots open 5 hours before kickoff, and the best tailgating spots fill up first. While you’re there early you can also check out the family friendly activities happening on the plaza.
Go for the food
Who doesn’t like to eat? And the food at the stadium is delicious. Sit back, enjoy, and watch someone else do all the running around. You’ll find all the traditional game day inspired fare including barbecue, burgers, and sausage, but that’s just the beginning. You’ll also find favorite Texan dishes like brisket, nachos, taco salad, and even a modern take on the classic Texas corn dog. Looking for something more exotic? Perhaps you like Korean food? Try the Korean BBQ Brat served with kimchi relish, garlic jalapeño aioli and fried onions. Don’t forget to save room for dessert.
Go for the art work
Contemporary art fan? You can’t miss the stunning works of art as you make your way through the stadium! The Gene and Jerry Jones art collection on display at AT&T Stadium includes large scale paintings, sculptures, and installations. The pieces all work together with the iconic architecture of the building to bring art and sports together in the most beautiful way.
Go for the tours
Technically the tours don’t happen during the games, but they do happen around the games. Rally Days are held a day before home games and allow fans to enjoy activities on the same field that the Cowboys will play on the very next day, plus get a behind the scenes tour of AT&T Stadium. Can’t get there a day early? Take a peek at the most popular areas of AT&T Stadium with a Self-Guided Tour. Self-guided tours are available Friday through Sunday, as well as every day after a home game when the field is in place.
Go for the team building
As much as I love football, I know it’s not the most important thing in the world. But, standing in the crowd, yelling at the top of your lungs, and still feeling drowned out by the chorus of fans yelling around you, it’s hard not to feel a sense of solidarity with your team. Plus, it brings a lot of joy.
