hello sign

August 2, 2012 by Julie 8 Comments

This month's Etsy Fort Worth upcycle challenge was to make something with popsicle sticks. Now, I have to admit right at the start that I went out and bought a package of popsicle sticks for this project. It's not that we haven't eaten popsicles, I just always forgot to save them! Thankfully this project only uses a few of them so I have plenty left in my package to make more … [Read more...]

upcycled tie craft

July 19, 2012 by Julie Leave a Comment

The tie itself was fine, but the plastic piece that it was tied on to broke. The tie part of a clip on tie is shorter than a regular tie. I completely forgot to take pictures!)Close-up of the cupcakes, topped with MustachesA full shot of the food tableOne of the things I did … [Read more...]

The kids all love eating freezer pops. But the twins always complain about their hands being cold. For a while now they have worn oven mitts to keep their hands comfy.Starting last summer I saw people making these fleece freezer pop holders. However, I am not a sewer and kept putting it off. Yesterday, the kids and I finally made some.I pulled out a bunch of fabric and let them cut out their … [Read more...]

wine cork board

May 31, 2012 by Julie 2 Comments

This month's Etsy Fort Worth Upcycle challenge is wine corks. Now, I don't drink (wine or otherwise) but I have friends who do who were nice enough to give me some of their wine corks. My creation using corks is a simple cork board. Here's my supplies, a 5x7 frame and some wine corks. (This was an old beat up frame that I spray painted red.) Using a hot glue gun I arranged the corks in a … [Read more...]
