Little Man baby shower

June 28, 2012 by Julie 4 Comments

Last Saturday I got the chance to help host a surprise ‘Little Man’ baby shower. Fun colors and lots of mustaches and bow ties.

I really like the sign on the table that says “Keep Calm and Grow On” (Photo’s from the shower are from my friend Missy’s cell phone. I completely forgot to take pictures!)

One of the things I did was to make the favors for the shower. Since it was a little man theme we went with chocolate mustache favors.

We wanted light green mustaches (to go with the shower colors), but the green melting chocolates at the store were more of a forest green. So I got yellow and blue instead, and crossed my fingers that they would make a pretty green.

They did! The molds were pretty big so I was able to use a spoon to dollop in the melted chocolate.

This was my first time to make a chocolate mold, and most of my mustaches have little air bubble marks, but they were still cute. (And most importantly, they tasted good.)

I had some little cellophane bags to put the mustaches in and then I wanted to tie them with some cute bakers twine. Since I didn’t have any twine, but I did have plenty of cotton thread, I used this tutorial to make my own. I used an orange marker to go with our color scheme.

And here one is all packaged up

(A big thanks to my friend Sarah for letting me borrow her mold!)
