Breakfast Notes Start The Day Off Right

School days start early at our house. Starting last year in 9th grade, Youngest Twin takes a zero hour class. That means an hour before ‘normal’ school starts he is already in class. High school starts around 7:30 and his zero hour class starts at 6am. Working backwards that means we wake up around 5am.

I’m big on starting the day with breakfast and Youngest Twin always eats something before he heads out the door. But he’s more than hungry before lunch time at school rolls around. It didn’t take long last year before I started adding in a morning snack for him in his backpack. We’ll call it second breakfast.

For Youngest Twin I picked up some Nature Valley XL Protein Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Bars at Walmart. They’re perfect to slip one into his backpack each morning before he heads out the door.

In addition to satisfying his hunger and fueling his day I also wanted to add a little bit of encouragement with his second breakfast. So I created some printable Breakfast Notes. These are about 2.5″ by 3.5″ and all 6 print on one sheet of paper. You can print them on standard printer paper or on card stock so they are a little sturdier.

I went with some academically inspired quotes to encourage my kids to do their best at school each day.
