Ruffled Tie Necklace

March 8, 2012 by Julie 9 Comments

I mentioned yesterday how my sister-in-law is super crafty. (She definitely keeps me on my toes.) Well, recently she saw a tutorial on how to make this cute Ruffled Tie Necklace! So we spent a crafty afternoon taking old ties and making them into necklaces together.     The directions on the tutorial are pretty easy to follow. Ikea inspiration

February 27, 2012 by Julie 6 Comments

Our house was built in 1950 which means the rooms are small. Other than the furniture that my husband builds, a lot of our furniture comes from Ikea. But if you want one, tell me. What fun idea can you think of for me to make?! … [Read more...]

But this year I decided to make them anyway, with some changes. Unfortunately crafting at night leads to bad pictures. Sorry!  My husband did a project about a year ago that required him to cut … [Read more...]

origami and crochet hearts

February 9, 2012 by Julie 4 Comments

This is my submission for the Etsy817 team February craft-along. The theme was conversation hearts.  I was perusing Pinterest when I saw some beautiful origami paper hearts. I thought "wouldn't those look pretty with a scallop border." And I think they do. Here are my supplies. A 12x12 sheet of paper, hole punch, crochet hook, yarn, and marker I found the directions on how to fold … [Read more...]
