Heading back to school? Whip up a simple teacher gift with this fun free printable!
I won’t lie, I’m excited about getting my routine back. But I am also dreading early mornings, homework, and the rush of after-school activities. Basically, I have a lot of conflicted emotions when it comes to back to school. I am still homeschooling Oldest Twin, Youngest Twin will be headed back to high school, and Littlest is still squarely in elementary school.
I know firsthand that kids, and parents, aren’t the only ones who are anxious about back to school. My Mom and one of my sisters are both teachers. This year the twins and I have already got to help them get their classrooms ready. My sister’s classroom looks ah-mazing and I will share some pictures over on Instagram soon.
My boys all deal with some level of anxiety so I try not to add to it with too many first day of school practices. But over the years I have also learned that one way to focus less on your own anxiety is to think about others and try to make them feel more comfortable. I try to tell my kids that while they are nervous, their teachers are probably a bit nervous as well. So what better way to calm everyone’s nerves than a sweet and simple gift for their new teachers.
Knit or crochet coffee cozies are really simple to make and a great way to use up little bits of yarn. This knit bow pattern is one of my favorites. Then you can pair your knit or crochet cozy with this fun printable.
