I’m Sorry For What I Said When I Was Hungry

hungry sorry art snack mix

Let me know if this situation sounds familiar to anyone. You make dinner, make sure your family gets fed, but realize you don’t have time to feed yourself before you have to run out the door again.

*Raising my hand*

Now, I do my best not to over schedule our days/nights. But things happen. Thankfully there is always time to grab a SNICKERS® to keep the hunger away. Know what else you can grab, that is super quick to make? Chocolate and Peanut Butter SNICKERS® Snack Mix.

hungry-snack-mix

Here’s what you need for the snack mix:
7 cups rice squares cereal
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup roasted peanuts
1 cup SNICKERS® Peanut Butter Squares (cut in fourths)

Melt the chocolate according to the directions on the package.
Pour meted chocolate over the rice cereal, stir to make sure the cereal is evenly coated.
Toss chocolate covered cereal with powdered sugar.
Add peanuts and SNICKERS®, stirring to combine.
hungry kitchen art

I know I’m a lot more likely to snap at people when I’m hungry. Teenagers are often guilty of this as well. To go along with the SNICKERS® “Who are you when you’re hungry?” contest I thought it would be fun to make some new kitchen art for our apartment. This is an 11×14 canvas where I sketched the phrase “I’m sorry for what I said when I was hungry” and then filled in the letters. Hopefully it will be a fun reminder to everyone to try extra hard to be nice to each other when we’re hungry.

You can enter the SNICKERS® “Who are you when you’re hungry?” contest by uploading a personal photo or video from your computer, Facebook, Instagram or use the SNICKERS® Meme Generator to create something new! Voting begins at Noon on 5/11/15 and ends at 11:59:59AM ET on 7/15/15.

hungry irish snack

For a little bit of St. Patrick’s Day fun I added a “Irish I had another bite” label to our snack jar. This would also be a cute way to gift some snack mix to a hungry friend!

Oh do I know “hangry pants” as I call it…I have the tendency to go dead silent when the hunger strikes. It is not good and not good to be around me…LOL…with that being said, this looks DELICIOUS! All of my favorites!

When I was in college, I used to make something very similar! It was easy because we had to live on campus (in dorms–no kitchens). I never thought to add peanuts. I always used peanut butter. The cut up snickers would be great!

My 92 year old Mom is wprse then even I am when she is hungry–you are supposed to eat at 12 noon (lunch)–so what if there is a lot of traffic–go through that light–pass that car!! I generally have a candy bar or two with me to hand her–oh I’m sorry we have to share!! I never let her know that I bought an extra one and ate it before I got back in the car! You really don’t want to know me when I am famished either!!
