I have been in college for a few years now, attending part time to finish my bachelors degree. In that time both of my younger sisters have started and finished their degrees. And now my cousin has started her degree. With all of that college attending we have quite a few college allegiances in our family. Plus, now that we live in Fort Worth, the whole city is pretty TCU crazy.
But it also makes talking about college a fairly common thing in our house. And the twins are starting to widen their ideas of where they might like to go to school. Of course Littlest is still at the age where he can’t imagine going away somewhere for school, but he’s already obsessed with his frog shirts. He insists on wearing his backwards, so that the frog is on the front where he can see it.
With all of my college attending, and college observing, I’ve learned something pretty major:
College students are always in need of the essentials
And the best way to get them those essentials is generally a care package.
Amazon is making this easier than ever. The #AmazonWishList feature allows you to keep a running list of things your student needs and send them directly to their door without ever entering a store!
We are already Amazon Prime fanatics at our house. The streaming service rocks. And you can’t beat the 2-day shipping. Living downtown with one car we’ve been able to order and have delivered many items that would be too bulky for our car. But now I can add items to my Amazon Wish List without leaving Twitter?!
When you discover a tweet from your favorite artist, brand, friend, wherever, you can now simply add “#AmazonWishList” to the reply on Twitter and the product is added to your Amazon Wish List. You will be notified with a reply Tweet from @MyAmazon as well as an email from Amazon when the item is successfully added to their Wish List. So if you haven’t already connected your Twitter and Amazon.com accounts head there now! (You can also learn more at www.amazon.com/AmazonWishList.)
So, might I offer a couple suggestions to send to your college student?
First up, KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Dinner Cups
These are great because all you have to do is add water! Which means your college student can enjoy them anywhere, including a dorm room. Go from zero to yum in just 3-1/2 minutes. And easy enough for anyone to make. (These also make great snacks!)
And a second suggestion? Planters Dry Roasted Peanuts
Peanuts are a nutrient-dense, tasty snack that deliver seven grams of protein and six essential nutrients (a good source of niacin, Thiamin, Vitamin E, manganese, magnesium, fiber) per 1 oz. serving. And they are naturally trans-fat and cholesterol-free, so great taste doesn’t have to come at the expense of wholesome snacking.
And both the KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Dinner Cups AND the Planters Dry Roasted Peanuts will be part of the first ever #AmazonWishList Social Shopping Party happening tomorrow!
Yep, Amazon is hosting an #AmazonWishList Social Shopping Party tomorrow, that’s Wednesday, October 15th, from 11-12pm EST. And during the party you can get $1 off when purchased from Twitter using #AmazonWishlist.
Amazon will be offering special promotions during the hour on the featured products purchased using the #AmazonWishList feature. This includes $1 off all featured products that are purchased during the party using #AmazonWishList and #AmazonHasIt!
PLUS, Amazon will be giving away 10 (that’s TEN) Kindles as prizes during the party.
Let’s just repeat that. AMAZON WILL BE GIVING AWAY TEN KINDLES TOMORROW. This is a party that you don’t want to miss.
And with the holidays coming up you can do your holiday shopping while on Twitter! (Last holiday, Amazon customers added seven books and five toys every second to Amazon Wish Lists.)
Other features of Amazon Wish List include:
- NEW Save-A-Photo:With the new Save-A-Photo feature, customers can snap a picture of anything from anywhere and save it to their Amazon WishList.
- UniversalWish List Add-on: The Amazon WishList is truly universal. Customers can add anything from any online site to their Amazon Wish List with a simple add-on available for any browser.
- Don’t SpoilMy Surprises:This feature does not reveal to the Wish List creator which items have been purchased, so every gift is truly a surprise. However, once an item is purchased from an Amazon Wish List, other shoppers will see only what remains on the Wish List –avoiding duplicate gifts.
- Virtual Notes: Customers can save and idea and search for it later by adding a virtual note to an AmazonWish List and jot down anything, giving friends and family a little gifting inspiration.
In the picture above with the various college shirts you can see that both my Mom and my husband graduated from the school that I am currently attending and will graduate from. In addition to both my Mom and I attending UTA we also both worked for their student newspaper, The Shorthorn.
And now I think those KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Dinner Cups are calling my name.
