Upcycle challenge: clothespins

August 28, 2012 by Julie Leave a Comment

This months Etsy Fort Worth upcycle challenge is clothespins. Part of the fun of these challenges, for me, is just trying to use what I have already on hand. I only had 5 clothepins in the house so that meant that I was a little limited in what I could make. I also think clothespins are really useful and I didn't want to make something where I had to take them apart or make them not work … [Read more...]

yarn wrapped ear buds

August 9, 2012 by Julie 2 Comments

I've been eyeing some of these tutorials for yarn wrapped ear buds for awhile. I like being able to drop a pair in my purse to use when I'm walking around campus, but they always end up tangled. Thankfully this project only uses a few of them so I have plenty left in my package to make more … [Read more...]

The tie itself was fine, but the plastic piece that it was tied on to broke. The tie part of a clip on tie is shorter than a regular tie. It was even to short to tie like a regular tie and use on the toddler. But I thought there … [Read more...]

reuse a gift bag

June 29, 2012 by Julie Leave a Comment

I admit it, I reuse gift bags. I really like to hold on to plain gift bags, then I can dress it up to fit whatever occasion I need it for.For the baby shower that I went to last weekend I took a plain blue bag and added a tie to the front and back to go with the little man theme.I freehanded the tie and cut it out of scrapbook paper. I like the way these ties look with the directions of the … [Read more...]
