Spring Clean Your Bathroom

April 29, 2016 by Julie 22 Comments

Thanks to SC Johnson for helping me get my home clean for spring!

Every season has its own traditions. From winter holidays to summer vacations. Spring has quite a few traditions. One of which is Easter festivities at Grandma’s house. This year was the first time we’ve added a piñata to the activities, it was a big hit. (Pun completely intended.)

All the kids took turns, from youngest to oldest. That meant that the twins went last. They were great sports and hit the piñata gently so that the little kids could have more turns.

Spring also means baseball season. Of course we cheer for our home team. My husband has already been to one game and we will be going as a family soon.

And, of course, spring means spring cleaning.

We made a choice when we changed apartments last fall to switch who was in what room. In our previous apartment my husband and I had the ‘master’ bedroom with the bathroom in it. Because the bedrooms are laid out differently in our new apartment, this time the kids are sharing the master bedroom. Which means that the boys have their own bathroom and my bathroom is also the guest the bathroom.

This is good and bad.

Good because I can make sure that my bathroom is clean when guests come over, rather than depending on the boys bathroom to be tidy. Bad because, well, out of sight out of mind.

Thankfully I have a powerful bathroom ally in Scrubbing Bubbles®. The bright green can was easy to spot in the Home Cleaning Section at Walmart.

This is after cleaning the sink and counter in the boys bathroom. We’ll get to the embarrassing before in a moment.

If your house is like mine, spring also might mean spring colds. Scrubbing Bubbles® kills 99.9% of viruses^ and bacteria* which means I’m cleaning and disinfecting my bathroom at the same time. I love multi-tasking.

Watch Scrubbing Bubbles® in action in my kid’s bathroom. And remember the out of sight out of mind comment from before. Also keep in mind this is a teeny tiny bathroom being shared by three boys.

Aside from cleaning it also kills odor-causing bacteria and deodorizes the bathroom. Again perfect for a small bathroom being shared by 3 boys.

Now here’s to keeping the house spring clean all year long!

^When used as directed kills Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1, Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2, Influenza A (H1N1) Virus, Respiratory Syncytial Virus, Rotavirus. *Staphylococcus aureus (Staph), Salmonella enterica (Salmonella), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli (0157:H7) (E. coli), Listeria monocytogenes, Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

My boy is 12 now and while I try not to look too closely, I found that a roll of Clorox Wipes is his secret weapon. He can safely handle wiping down the sink and the toilet with a few wipes (and yes, I had to tell him to NOT use the same one. Ew.) I’m glad he has his own bathroom because I’m constantly cleaning the guest bathroom as it is!

I love Scrubbing Bubbles. I have it on hand and several stocked. I remember trying out a different one before and it just didn’t measure up to this! It’s a great and quick clean up especially when guests come over last minute. I just do a quick spray in the sink wait a minute and rinse.

I have all boys, so I have to deep clean my bathroom regularly. They are just gross and I am always on top of the bathrooms in my house.

I like to spring clean as well. It just makes the room seem so much more appealing and it makes you feel better because it is clean!

I love spring cleaning but I have had to give up everything with a scent. I love scrubbing Bubbles so this bums me. I love the way it smells!

I still have yet to finish my spring cleaning. Sometimes I wished I had a smaller house because there is so much to do.

I could really use this product… living with a couple of boys makes for some “icky” bathrooms!

I always look forward to doing spring cleaning! I’ll admit that the bathroom is one of my least favorite places to clean, though. ~lol~ – HilLesha

I totally can relate to the out of sight out of mind… I recently went into my 13-year-old’s bedroom and I was shocked at what a mess it is! I don’t go in there often enough, apparently! You’re a brave woman for approaching a boy’s bathroom on your own, but at least you had some good weaponry the Scrubbin’ Bubbles. 😉

Our bathroom can get pretty grody at times. It must have been a real challenge in a teen boys bathroom!
