As one would imagine, the people at Michaels know how to host a craft night! This time it was in honor of their new store opening in Southlake. We were greeted with tables full of trendy supplies and a celebrity teacher (Craft Wars judge Jo Pearson) to lead us through a craft.
The theme of the night was denim, which will be a huge craft trend this year. My side of the room made these fun canvas and denim placemats. Complete with pocket holders for your silverware that double as place cards.
Once we finished our craft we got a VIP tour of the store to check out the new layout, including the new MAKE Market! This is the place where all the trendy DIY project ideas will be, like chalkboard, denim, burlap, and cork. How convenient is that?!
And no store tour wold be complete for me without a stop at the yarn section (aka my home away from home). Michaels has a few yarns, including the Woolspun from Lion Brand, that is exclusive to their stores.
If you’re in the Dallas/Fort Worth area you can check out the new Southlake Michaels grand opening for yourself this weekend. Sunday morning starting at 9:45 a.m. will be the ribbon-cutting, followed by hourly prize giveaways. You’ll want to get there early away because the first 100 in line receive mystery gift cards of $10-$100!
Happy crafting!
The new Southlake Michaels store is located at 1051 E. Southlake Blvd
