My Valentine’s Day mason jars needed a new printable to go along with them.
Sometimes my boys fight. I know you’re shocked. And recently Littlest asked me why one particular brother had to be a part of our family. I thought I would take the opportunity for the next month to try to get the boys to think about things that they like each other. If only briefly.
Enter the “I love you because” sign. A chance for all of us to think about a reason why we love each other, write it down, and share it with each other.
We started with “you make me smile.” Amidst the daily frustrations we are pretty good at diffusing things with sarcasm and laughter. When Littlest asked me for the millionth time what I was going to make for dinner, and I still didn’t have an answer, I smiled and said dirt. He knew laughed and I laughed. And we avoided another disagreement of what he wants to eat versus what is available for me to cook.
Homeschooling can be frustrating. But a little bit of sarcasm with a teenager can go a long way.
So we are going to work on proactively thinking of reasons why we love each other for the next few weeks.
And after the kids go to bed I’m sure my spouse and I could think of a few things to write on our message board to each other as well. Or maybe I should make another one just for us.
You can get I love you because (here) and I love you (here).
