Kid Made, Mom Approved Brunch

I’m not sure when, where, or why the tradition of serving Mom breakfast in bed for Mother’s Day started. I love the idea of serving Mom breakfast for Mother’s Day. Whether she eats breakfast in bed or somewhere else is up to her and how she feels about crumbs. Personally, I’m not big on eating in bed and the kids aren’t allowed to take food into their rooms either.

And as much as I adore my children, I have to be honest that a breakfast prepared by them doesn’t sound that appetizing. That’s why I was so excited to team up with World Market to create a breakfast basket for Mom that she will truly enjoy. World Market had everything I needed to create my Mother’s Day Gifts. I’m calling it my Kid Made, Mom Approved Mother’s Day Breakfast Tray.

I picked up this Wood And Embossed Square Metal Tray to use as the base for my ‘basket’. Then I added Melamine Berry Baskets and Silicone Pinch Bowls to hold all of the breakfast foods. Make sure to include some braided coasters to rest your glasses on.

My Mom loves all things French, including French food. For her I made sure to pick up some Mini Madeleines, a traditional French Sponge Cake. I picked up two flavors, one plain and one with Chocolate Chips. To go with my cakes I also got some Creative Snacks Co. Bountiful Berry Granola. And I filled my pinch bowls with fresh berries. I feel incredibly lucky not only to have my Mom who lives nearby but my mother-in-law as well. They are both strong women who have taught me many things when it comes to being a Mom. My Mother-in-law has been an example to me in how to serve. She inspires my volunteerism. My Mom is a cheerleader for all of her children. Believing in us and loving us unconditionally.

If you’re delivering your basket you could gift Mom the tray with the items all placed together and wrapped up nicely. If this is something your kids are making for you then they can open the edible items and place them in all the bowls and baskets.

Add a vase with flowers, I picked flowers that matched my coasters. I used a mason jar filled with river rocks and silk flowers.

Don’t forget to add glasses and something to drink.
