Do you have some home DIY projects on your to-do list this year? We re-did our downstairs bathroom a few years ago. And about 10 years ago we re-did the floor in our kitchen. This year we’re hoping to re-do the upstairs bathroom and start making plans for a larger kitchen renovation.

DIY Flooring

If you like home DIY projects and renovations, Achim flooring options at Walmart are flooring options as well as easy and convenient. They include Nexus Self Adhesive Carpet Tiles, Portfolio Plank & Tile, and Vinyl Floor Tile. For the bathroom I’m looking at the Vinyl Floor Tile and the Portfolio Plank & Tile for the kitchen.

What room at your house could use a brand new look?

If your thinking about updating your home office or basement, the Nexus Self Adhesive Carpet Tiles are a quick way to upgrade your space with a modern take to old-school carpeting. You can even mix and match colors to form patterns. Or stick with solids to create a clean modern look. The carpet tiles are 12” x 12”, with 12 tiles per box.

Ready to update your kitchen? The Achim Portfolio Self Adhesive Vinyl Floor Tiles are a beautiful and easy do-it-yourself flooring solution. These tiles are 12” x 12”, with 12 tiles per box and are 2.0mm. Plus, they are easy to cut with a utility knife, simply score and break.

If you want to give your kitchen, dining room, bedroom, bathroom, foyer, basement, or really any room in your house, a brand new look at a low cost, look no further than the Achim Nexus Self Adhesive Vinyl Floor Tiles. One box of tiles covers 20 square feet, with 20 tiles per box.

For me, part of DIY home renovations, also mean creating some new decor for my updated rooms. What better for a kitchen or bathroom remodel than a new piece of wall art that says HOME?

Inspired by the dark marble Achim tile I picked some stormy blues for my paint pouring. I used four shades of blues, as well as some off white and black acrylic paint. I mixed each individual paint color with some pouring medium in small cups. Then I combined all the colors in a larger plastic cup before pouring the colors all at once on my canvas.

While I did the mixing inside, I went outside to do the paint pouring. I laid down a canvas tarp on the driveway and used two wooden dowels. I also wore plastic gloves! Pour the paint on the canvas, my canvas is 12″ x 12″ (just like the tiles). Lift the dowels to help the paint spread all over the canvas. The more you move the canvas the more the paint colors will mix. Make sure the entire canvas is covered. You can add on more paint if you need or want.

Once the canvas is covered allow it to dry.

Then it was time to add the HOME lettering to my canvas. I used a vinyl cutting machine to cut out the H, M, and E letters, but I decided to have a little fun with the O. I love making things cozy, and I thought these felt balls would be the perfect touch. I used hot glue to attach them to my canvas in the shape of an O.

After putting the vinyl letters on my canvas I went over them with some adhesive to make sure they were secured.

My HOME canvas is ready to hang up in my bathroom!

Seems fun Julie, I will have the materials ready by weekend so my kids would be able to help out.
