Glass Notepad

We’ve recently started our third year of homeschool with Oldest Twin. Each year I feel like I’m a little better prepared. A little more on top of things. And every year I find some great new gadgets or supplies that I get really excited about. This year it’s our new glass notepad from Clarus Glassboards.

A glass notepad is essentially a reusable piece of paper. It sits on our homeschool desk (aka the kitchen table) and Oldest Twin can answer questions, work out math problems, take notes, doodle, the list is really endless. Then when we’re done with that subject he can wipe the board and start with the next one.

Obviously there are some notes and things that need to be a little more permanent. But for papers that would just get thrown away when we are done this is so much better.

Because it’s a glass board you can write on it with any marker. Dry-erase markers, wet-erase markers, permanent markers. I promise, we tested them all. If you use the permanent markers you will need some glass cleaner and a cloth to get it clean. (And possibly a little elbow grease depending on how long it has been sitting. But it will come off!)

For school my favorite marker has been a fine felt-tipped marker. Oldest Twin can do whatever school work I’ve asked him to and then take an eraser (the same as you would use on a white board) and wipe notepad clean. And he’s ready to move on to the next subject.

You don’t have to be a homeschooling family to appreciate a reusable notepad. Put one on your desk to write notes to yourself or keep one near the refrigerator so your family can add to your grocery list (mine never ends).

What is your favorite school supply?
