Get ready to celebrate summer with Sparkler Pretzel Rods covered with M&M’S® Peanut Red, White & Blue Candies!
Summer holidays, including Memorial Day and the 4th of July, are a big deal at my house. My husband served in the military for 12 years and while we were patriotic before, it became a bigger deal while he was serving and now that he has left the service.
We love to have friends and family over to eat for summer holidays and grill out in the backyard. No celebration is complete without a little dessert. This one is really fun because it doubles at summer decor!
When it’s holiday time, I know that I can always get a great deal on seasonal items at . I was able to run in and pick up the ingredients I needed for my Sparkler Pretzel Rods as well as the vase; tray; and red, white, and blue flowers to create my edible centerpiece.
The inspiration was really the M&M’S® Peanut Red, White & Blue Candies Mix, and then it only took a few minutes to find everything else I wanted to complete my summer firecracker centerpiece.
How to Make Firecracker Pretzel Rods
- M&M’S® Peanut Red, White & Blue Candies Mix
- Pretzel rods
- Milk chocolate (for melting)
- Sprinkles (optional)
Assembling your sparkler pretzel rods only takes a few steps, but you can get pretty creative! Start by melting your chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Break up the chocolate and microwave at 50% power in 30 second intervals, stirring between each time.
Once the chocolate is melted, coat your pretzel rods in the chocolate. While it’s still soft, cover the melted chocolate with your M&M’S® Peanut Red, White & Blue Candies Mix.
You can leave your M&M’S® Peanut Red, White & Blue Candies whole or you can also crush them up for some of your pretzel rods. Or create some sparkler pretzel rods that are a combination as both! For a little extra sparkle, I also added some glittery sprinkles.
I lined a baking dish with some parchment paper to place my pretzel rods on. You get such a different look with both the whole and crushed M&M’S® Peanut Red, White & Blue Candies!
Once you’ve assembled your pretzel rods, you can place them in the refrigerator to cool and harden. It only takes about 20-30 minutes and then you can assemble your edible centerpiece.
I filled my vase with a bag of M&M’S® Peanut Red, White & Blue Candies, after snacking on a few, and then placed my sparkler pretzel rods in the vase.
