dreamcatcher

February 21, 2013 by Julie 11 Comments

I’ve been thinking about making a dreamcatcher for awhile. We’ve been working on making a quiet space in the twins room for them. And I was thinking that a dreamcatcher would be a nice addition to that space.

Then this week there was a tutorial for one on a blog that I read (The Forge). It was just the push I needed to get my own made.

I know it’s not really a traditional dreamcatcher, but I wanted to use things I had on hand. I also wanted it to be something that my two boys would like.

So while the one in the tutorial had lace, feathers, and a butterfly, mine uses different yarn textures. The twins got to go through my yarn stash and pick out the yarns they wanted to use. They also found the branch outside in our yard.

And now it’s hanging in their quiet space. They seem to really like it, and in the end that’s what is most important.

I like that you used things on hand and let your kids pick out the yarn.

How fun to let them choose the stick and the yarn! I love the peaceful colors they chose to use.

Darling dream catcher, Julie! I love that you used things from around the house and that your boys helped, too! 🙂 I’ve made quite a few of these and for some reason….just can’t stop! It’s become a very addictive craft for me. lol!
