DIY Knit Bow Necklace

January 6, 2017 by Julie Leave a Comment

Try something new and knit yourself some jewelry! Start by making this Knit Bow Necklace

Knit Bow Necklace

If you’ve been wanting to learn how to knit this simple project is a great place to start. It’s really quick and gives you finished project that you can’t wait to wear and show off to your friends and family. (And complete strangers who will ask you wear you got your fabulous necklace.)

You’ll need:

  • Yarn (I used two strands of a thin yarn held together)
  • Knitting needles
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Necklace chain (that includes clasp)

You only need to know one stitch to make this bow, either knit stitch or purl stitch. I cast on 6 stitches and then knitted until my piece measured just over 4 inches.

Bind off, fold the piece in half length-wise, and stitch the ends together. Wrap some yarn around the center to create your bow. Then thread the necklace chain through and your new accessory is ready to wear.
