My family loves cheese. LOVES. My kids eat some every day. Cheese is also one of my favorite things to bring to a party. Even if it’s not potluck, when guests bring extra dishes it really helps out the host. And you know when I’m hosting a party or get-together there will certainly be cheese on the menu.

The holidays mean lots of baking. But instead of baking with my cookie sheet I am turning it into a menu board. My Cookie Sheet Chalkboard Menu is the perfect place to list out what I’m serving.

For this craft you’ll need:

  • A cookie sheet
  • Chalkboard paint
  • Chalk
  • A chalk marker (optional)
  • Pencil (optional)
  • Printed sheet with the writing for your menu (optional)

The first step is to paint your cookie sheet. You can either use an old cookie sheet that you want to upcycle or I got a cookie sheet at the grocery store when I was buying my food. Follow the directions on your chalkboard paint, mine called for 2 coats of paint. I allowed the paint to dry between coats and then I waited 24 hours before writing on my chalkboard.

I’m not crazy about my handwriting. So I typed up what I wanted my menu to look like and printed it out. If you have pretty handwriting then just write your menu straight on your chalkboard. Printing out my menu also helped me make sure I liked the spacing for everything.

I took my chalk and rubbed it all over the back of the paper that I had printed out. Then I flipped the paper over and used a pencil to trace over all the lettering. When I pulled up my paper I had faint chalk lines for all my letters.

The next step was to tape my chalkboard paint marker and go over the lettering. This really helped the lettering stand out on my cookie sheet. I wanted to make sure my guests could see all the delicious food choices.

While I was getting my cookie sheet at Kroger I also picked up all the food I was going to serve, including Kaukauna® Sharp Cheddar Cheese Balls. Kaukauna® comes in a variety of forms so you have plenty of serving options.

In addition to the Kaukauna® Sharp Cheddar Cheese Balls I also picked up a Kaukauna® Smoky Bacon Cheese Balls. I like there to be options, and all the options are delicious and made with 100% real cheddar. I also got some crackers and other finger foods to add to my serving platter.

Laid out all together they make a beautiful spread!
