Fourth of July Yarn Bomb

June 30, 2015 by Julie Leave a Comment

It just wouldn't be a holiday without a themed yarn bomb to go with it. With the Fourth of July happening on Saturday it was high time for a Fourth of July Yarn Bomb. These are similar to the stars that are currently on my patriotic wreath. I thought I'd brighten up a few spots downtown with some red, white, and blue patriotic crochet stars. Grab the FREE crochet pattern here to make your … [Read more...]

#emptymodern

June 8, 2015 by Julie Leave a Comment

Instead of a date night, this weekend we tried a date morning. I like to think of myself as a fairly avid art fan, and I try to visit art museums as often as I can with three rowdy boys. It's pretty cool watching someone accomplish one of their dreams. Those who have been here for awhile have probably heard me talk about my middle sister and her rather incredible singing voice before. This year she made it one of her goals to audition for a musical at a local theater, and she got a part! Last Saturday was her opening night, and my husband and I took all the kids to see her perform … [Read more...]

Hawaiian Falls: Water Parks and Adventure Parks

May 20, 2015 by Julie 2 Comments

That is me, at the very top on the left. Three stories up, getting ready to go on the zip line. And on the right, that's the view from the top. Memorial Day weekend marks the start of the summer season. The kids technically still have a couple weeks of school left, but visions of swimming pools and sleeping late are dancing in all of our heads. I got a jump start to the summer season, along … [Read more...]
