I love monograms. And I’ve been wanting to make one these button monograms for awhile. I’m glad I finally got one finished!
My supplies. A canvas (I got a flat one), red buttons, chevron fabric, my hot glue gun, and my monogram stencil.
I wrapped my fabric around the canvas and hot glued it to the back.
For the stencil I printed out the letter in Times New Roman 500pt font. Then I cut out the inside portion of the letter. I laid it on my canvas and traced the letter.
Then I took my red buttons and started filling up the inside of the letter that I traced. I kept hot gluing the buttons until the space was all filled up, layering them as needed.
I love the way the red letter turned out on the chevron. I think I’ll be making more of these.

I love the color combination & the chevron background. This looks so much simpler to do now that I’ve seen it done – thanks for the instructions!
