The best tip for being ready to host a holiday party at the drop of a hat is to have a list of proven party foods. Thanks to Boursin® I’ve got two new recipes to add to that list. A Two-Ingredient Bread Bowl Dip and Cheesy Bacon Bites. Both can be in in about 30 minutes, perfect for any last minute get togethers.
My calendar stays pretty packed from Thanksgiving through New Years Eve. Family get togethers, parties with friends, and a couple birthday parties (Littlest has a December birthday). There are dozens of reasons to get together. Even if I’m not hosting the party I often try to bring a little something to share and help out the hostess. The first stop on my holiday prep list is the deli area at Walmart. Keeping Boursin® cheeses, produce, and crackers on hand makes putting together appetizers that much easier.
And a little secret, I managed my two-ingredient Bread Bowl Dip by taking a little help from the grocery store refrigerated section. I picked up a package of refrigerated french bread. Rather than baking it flat, I coiled it up into a circle to create my bread bowl. It’s nice and warm just like homemade bread, but takes a fraction of the time.
Once the bread was baked all I had to do was cut out the center to create my bowl. It doesn’t get simpler than that.
I filled my bread bowl with Boursin® Monterey Jack & Spicy Pepper Cheese Dip. Every good party needs some dip and crackers. I love how simple it was to really jazz up the appearance of my dip by serving it in a bread bowl. It makes it look cozy.
I filled the dip tray with an assortment of crackers and vegetables (my kids favorite is celery sticks). It just needs a serving spoon for guests to start munching away.
Good news, the Cheesy Bacon Bites are about as simple as the bread bowl. They’re just three ingredients: Phyllo cups, Boursin® Garlic & Fine Herbs Cheese, and bacon. I filled the phyllo cups with the Boursin® cheese and popped them in the oven to warm. While they were baking I cooked my bacon in a frying pan on the stove. The cups and cheese baked for 10 minutes and by then my bacon was cooked. Chop up the bacon, sprinkle it over the cheese, and they’re ready to eat. 3 ingredients and about 15 minutes and you have a delicious bite sized appetizer.
The bacon and garlic cheese together was pretty divine. You’ll want to put a few of these on your plate.

You just blew my mind with your bread bowl secret. I had NO IDEA it was so easy to pull together.
Adding the Boursin directly into it makes it look like you’ve done something SO FANCY and complicated, when that couldn’t be further from the truth.
This may have just become my quick holiday hack for all of those get togethers we are invited to. Awesome!
Thanks for the ideas. The recipe for the Cheesy Bacon Bites looks pretty yummy and easy, too. I would have to make those to take somewhere or I’m sure I’d find myself devouring the whole batch!
