Getting ready for Easter egg hunts and gatherings with friends and family starts with some fun Easter crafts. And of course a little yarn crafting.

Depending on the size wreaths and/or hoops you use to make your bunny he can be small and sit on a mantle or large and hang on your door as a wreath.

DIY Crochet Easter Bunny Hoop

Bunny Hoop Supplies

Hoops and/or wreaths in two different sizes
Yarn
Crochet hook
Ribbon
Faux flowers
Pipe cleaner
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Hot glue

The first step is to cover your wreaths and/or hoops. I did this in two steps. First I wrapped the wreath and hoop in yarn.

Once I had wrapped them I single crocheted around the wreath and the hoop. By wrapping first I didn’t have to worry about any of the hoop showing through and it gave them a little more padding/dimension.

With both pieces covered I used some yarn and a tapestry needle to ship stitch them together.

Now it’s time for the bunny to really start taking shape. I cut a pipe cleaner in half and wrapped each half in the same yarn from my hoop. Use a bit of hot glue at each end to hold the yarn in place. Then hot glue the ears to the smaller hoop/wreath.

Dress up your bunny with a bow! This also helps hide where you attached the two pieces together. I cut one piece of ribbon and wrapped it around, hot gluing it into place. Then used another piece of ribbon to make the bow and hot glued it on top.

The last part of my bunny was his tail. Yarn poms-poms would make an adorable bunny tail. But I decided to do something the felt more like ‘spring,’ faux flowers! I hot glued them into place just off to one side on the bottom for my bunny tail.
