Take time to celebrate every single day! No need to wait for a holiday or special occasion. Here are 5 ways to celebrate every day.

Celebrate every day

Let’s be honest, life can be hard. We’re busy running around, taking care of work, family, and a host of obligations. It can be hard to step back, breathe in the moments, or even take a second for ourselves. The tagline for my blog is measure your life by yards, cups, and miles. Because when I look back, those are the measurements that will have created memories.

Yes, there is always something that needs to be fixed, something to worry about, or some task that still needs to be finished. But it’s so important to take time to celebrate the every day moments. Stop waiting for a holiday or a birthday, you can do small things every day that will bring you joy and make you smile.

Cracker and cheese platter

I usually think of a cheese ball as something to save for a party or a holiday. There’s no need to wait to celebrate, because now the beauty of Kaukauna® is available in convenient single servings too. Each time you peel open a Kaukauna® Single, spread its fresh taste on a cracker, or dip a carrot stick to create an indulgent treat, you rekindle that same special-occasion feeling your family and friends enjoy when they see that familiar Kaukauna® ball.

Celebrate every day

So how can you celebrate every day?

5 Ways to Celebrate Every Day

  1. Arrange a case of fresh flowers (sharing my tips and tricks below!)
  2. Enjoy a favorite hobby (you know I’m partial to knitting and crochet)
  3. Read a good book (I’d love to know what you’re reading!)
  4. Exercise (even a stroll around the block to get outside and get moving)
  5. Enjoy the new Kaukauna Singles with a veggie tray and some crackers.

Floral arranging

Just like a cheese ball, a bouquet of fresh flowers can feel like something that needs to be saved for a special occasion. But I’ve made it a priority to enjoy them more often. The bright colors and sweet scents are such a mood booster. Rather than picking out a pre-arranged floral arrangement you can have a lot of fun creating your own.

When putting together your own arrangement you need to focus on 4 main categories: focal flowers, mid-sized flowers, filler greenery, and texture.

Start with your focal flowers. For these think big, fluffy, and vibrant. Focal flowers might be peonies, gerber daisies, dahlias, or cabbage roses. I chose these big, bright yellow mums. Bold and eye catching and they felt perfect for summer.

Once you’ve chosen your focal flowers then pick out your mid-sized flowers. These could be a poppy, anemone, ranunculus, or spray rose, which is what I chose. Again I went with a summery pink flower that complimented my bold yellow mums.

Floral arranging

Fillers can either be flowers or greenery, or both. Filler flowers would be things like Queen Anne’s lace, baby’s breath, or something else teeny tiny. Filler greenery would include things like eucalyptus and ruscus. In this bouquet I’m using both baby’s breath and ruscus.

The last type of item you could add to your floral bouquet would be texture. Texture adds some personality and intrigue to your arrangement. Think thistle, scabiousa, snapdragon, coxscomb, hypericum, or silver brunia berries. You could even add it some kind of fruiting branch.

Once you’ve picked all of your floral pieces and taken them home they do need a little prep before you can start assembling your bouquet. Make sure to get rid of the greenery on your floral stems, you don’t want any leaves below the water line. It will also make it easier to arrange. You also want to cut each stem on an angle. Cutting at an angle makes sure the stem never rests fully on the bottom of the vase. To help your flowers last as long as possible you should also re-cut every other day.

Floral arranging

I like to just hold the flowers in my hand when I arrange them, but you could also use floral foam in the bottom of your vase or cross-hatch across the top of the vase with some floral tape.

For a classic bouquet you usually start with focal flowers and build from there, while more modern bouquets allow for more organic movement. When it comes to your flowers, whatever makes you happy is correct! This is about your enjoyment and your celebration. Pick the colors, flowers, and textures, that make you happy. I went really bright with my flowers, because that’s what looked good that day. We had just left the pool, I was quickly running to the store, the sun was shining, and everything felt very summery.

Cracker and cheese platter

It only takes a few minutes, but sitting at the table, snacking on a single serving of Kaukauna® just makes me happy. Kaukauna® Singles are more spreadable than the existing Kaukauna® products but with the same great taste! Plus each box has four (4) 2oz single serving cups for snacking anytime and anywhere you want to go.

Kaukauna® has been creating delicious spreadable cheese for over 100 years, a Wisconsin Tradition since 1918.
